Bank of Jamaica is aware of fake news articles in circulation via various digital platforms making reference to the Bank and public personalities, and promoting certain suspicious financial schemes and soliciting money with the fraudulent use of emblems associated with the Bank.
Bank of Jamaica dissociates itself from such online content and states categorically that the central bank does not promote, support and has not approved any such financial scheme or investment arrangement.
Members of the public should, in general, be cautious about information offering financial reward, requesting personal information or soliciting money.
