Bank of Jamaica is aware of the issues still being faced by some Deposit-Taking Institutions (DTIs) with the crediting of RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) payments and transfers to beneficiaries’ accounts initiated using their platforms arising from the migration from the Swift Message Type (MT) standard to the new ISO 20022 standard (MX) on 15 December 2025.
Given these challenges, Bank of Jamaica in facilitating payments through the alternate payment platform, ACH (Automated Clearing House), will temporarily waive the penalty charge of $5000.00 for transactions equal to and exceeding the ACH value threshold of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) for the period Monday, 15 December 2025 to Wednesday, 31 December 2025. In that regard, transactions exceeding the ACH threshold may be conducted during this period via the ACH without attracting a penalty.
For absolute clarity, be advised that ACH transaction fees charged by DTIs remain in effect.
