Suspension of Authorization to Offer Remittance Services
at Joong Supermarket & Wholesale Limited

Bank of Jamaica (the Bank) advises that remittance services at Joong Supermarket & Wholesale Limited located at 68 Newland Road, Bridgeport, St Catherine, have been suspended, effective 21 February 2025, until further advised. This has become necessary in light of action taken by the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), ordering the location closed due to non-compliance with the Public Health (Food Handling) Regulations, 1998.
Joong Supermarket & Wholesale Limited offered remittance services at the location as sub-agent of two (2) Primary Agents, GraceKennedy Remittance Services Limited (GKRS) and Lasco Financial services Limited (LFSL). Consequent on the suspension, of the remittance licences, these Primary Agents are not authorized to continue offering remittance services at this location, until further advised.
Note that GKRS and LFSL are still authorized by the Bank to offer remittance services at other locations.
